Directory Octopus

Directory Octopus is a modern take on Amiga's Directory Opus 4: a retro-styled, dual-pane file manager built in Rust with egui, featuring a bitmap Topaz font and Workbench-style 3D bevels.

Below the two file panes sits the button grid, straight out of the original Directory Opus: a row of drive/device shortcuts on the left, and a grid of gray, mostly empty buttons on the right. Right-clicking an empty gray cell lets you add your own button, with a label and a shell command to run — custom buttons get a distinctive border so they're easy to spot and re-edit later, also with a right click. It's a small detail, but it's the one that makes the button bar genuinely useful instead of just decorative.

F1, F2 and F3 switch between zoom levels, to fit the window to whatever screen you're working on.
